Breast reduction aftercare involves about 1-2 weeks of downtime, although full recovery happens in about 4-6 weeks.

You need to take care of your incision site by cleaning it with mild soap and water for two weeks. You should also wear your surgical bra at all times and have a companion for at least three days after your surgery.

Breast reduction aftercare lasts about two weeks after surgery. It really just involves keeping the wounds clean and dry.

The preferences of your surgeon will really dictate when you can shower or when you can get the wounds wet. I personally like to get patients in the shower usually in about 48 to 72 hours, and in my practice I usually have certain types of dressings that are on the wounds that usually come off in one to two weeks.

But really the majority in care is dependent on your own personal preference in terms of what you and your surgeon have discussed, and those specifications are usually outlined for you before and after surgery.

So plan on a good one to two week period after surgery or you really have to be conscientious about your own care
